County Broadband have an offer to connect every house in Langham to an actual fibre broadband network. Parts of Langham are very poorly served for speedy (not even high speed) internet access and this is a chance to really jump the availability across the village. CB need people to make a commitment to take up the offer, nothing to pay yet, so they have enough to make a start and then everyone will get fibre connected to their house. The offer has been extended to end of April, if not enough people get interested it doesn’t happen. Please take a look at the County Broadband website for more information countybroadbandfibre.co.uk/ . ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you for sharing this info. We didn't move yet to Langham because we are doing all the paper wok with solicitors therefor can't commit yet to the broadband but after calling them they say that they need an other 46 people to get the project going by the end of this week :-( the house we are buying have definitely a very bad connection (less than 3 mbps)...

A Little History

The Community Centre was officially opened in June 1988. Over the years it has been significantly extended and updated to provide the excellent facility that Langham enjoys today.

The most significant developments over recent years have been:

2010: completion of a major extension to provide a permanent venue for Langham Community Shop and dedicated premises for Langham Pre-School, thereby freeing up the Club Room for public hire.

2012: purchase of modern cinema and PA equipment, providing excellent audio-visual capabilities for Cinema, Concerts and Business Meetings.

2012: upgrading of all doors to double-glazing.

2013: high speed internet installed.

2013: provision of dishwasher in main kitchen; separate kitchenette installed in Committee Room allowing use as self-contained unit.

2013: Main Hall re-fitted with Junckers flooring, renovated stage, and 120 new cushioned chairs.

2014: Replaced stage curtains and Club Room and Committee Room blinds. Stage lighting and fader console installed.

2015: Air Conditioning installed in Committee Room.

2016: All windows now double glazed. High level Velux windows now with electrically operated opening and blinds.

2016: Main Hall and Stage re-decoration; floor re-seal.

2016: Major Kitchen renovation.

2016: Installation of large rear patio area.
